Biographical history
The Church of the Holy Spirit was established in 1992 with the amalgamation of the parishes of St. Mark and St. Christopher. St. Marks originated as the Tolmie Mission in 1891 and a parish church was opened in 1892 and was consecrated in 1893. St. Marks was also known as St. Mark's, Boleskine Road, and St Marks, Maywood, It was affiliated with Cadboro Bay Mission in 1892, then was served in 1899 by the priest appointed to the Chinese Mission. The Church (which also came to be known as St. Mark's, Cloverdale) had a resident rector in 1919. From 1959, it was paired with St. Christopher's, Victoria, which was established within St. Mark's Parish that year. In 1992, St. Marks and St. Christophers amalgamated under the new name of the Church of the Holy Spirit. St. Marks was close in 1992 and deconsecrated in 1993. The Church of the Holy Spirit (Victoria) was disestablished on February 28, 2005.
