The Centennial Commission was established ca. 1963 to organize events celebrating Canada's centennial in 1967. The Commission disbanded ca. 1968. The Centennial Voyageur Canoe Pageant, organized by Reg Fife, involved a canoe race from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, to Montreal, Quebec, and took place from May to September, 1967. A trial race was held in 1966 from Lachine, Quebec, to New York City.
