Name of creator
Based on the archival records the Cecil and Ida Green Lecture Series began in 1972 and is currently ongoing. The Lecture Series sponsors academics from a variety of fields and other prominent figures to lecture at the University. Potential lecturers are often nominated by UBC faculty members with the Cecil and Ida Green Lecture Series Committee making the final decision on which guests to sponsor and invite to lecture at UBC.
Scope and content
This fonds consists of lists of lecturers, curriculum vitae, minutes, newspaper clippings and photographs; it is divided between administrative and lectures series.
Immediate source of acquisition
The fonds was transferred to the Archives in 2003 by Roseanne Rumley, former administrative assistant to the University Lectures Committee and the Green Lectures Committee and the Dal Grauer Memorial Lecture Committee.

Terms governing use, reproduction, and publication
Due to the incompleteness of the records themselves, research was conducted to determine the history of the committee. Despite efforts, the Archives was unable to find sufficient information about the committee's original mandate, financing and operations. The administrative history in the description come directly from the records themselves and demonstrates the little knowledge the Archives possess about this committee's activities.
