Biographical history
The Quesnel Branch of the Cariboo Historical Society was active between 1951 and ca. 1961 and, again, between ca. 1976 and 1981. The society was instrumental in the establishment of the Quesnel and District Museum in 1963 and supported the operations of the museum. According to its constitution, the society was formed to acquire and preserve information on the early history of the Cariboo.

The fonds consists of constitution and bylaws, minutes, membership lists, correspondence, financial records, grant applications, and records of various projects and events supported by the society, including the campaign for the building of the Quesnel Museum, acquisition of the Cottonwood House/Ranch collection, restoration project for the SS Enterprise, and the 1979 seminar for the B.C. and Yukon Regional Council of Heritage Canada.
