Biographical history
The Capadouca family immigrated to Deas Island from Skopelos, Greece, in the 1890's. They made a short move to Pensacola, Florida, before permanently settling on Deas Island. The family were part of the Greek fishing community on the Island. Many of the Capadoucas still fish, although the Greek settlement no longer exists.
Custodial history
Copy prints were donated to the Delta Museum and Archives as part of the "Greeks on the Fraser" exhibit in January, 1996. The autograph book was also part of the exhibit.
Scope and content
This fonds consists of one autograph book belonging to Peter Demosten, and six photographs relating to the Capadouca family's activities on Deas Island.
