    Biographical history

    In 1910 after meeting for two years, Baptists in Prince Rupert organized the First Baptist Church. A building was erected in 1913 at 5th Ave East and Young Street. Bethel Baptist Church was organized in 1953 to meet the needs of post-war German immigrants to the area, and services were held on Second Avenue. The two congregations merged in 1972 becoming the Bethel First Baptist Church and opened its doors in a new church building on India Avenue in 1973.

    Scope and content

    The collection consists of records from Bethel First Baptist Church in Prince Rupert. It includes a proposed constitution from 1974, annual reports from 1967-2000, the 1991 church directory, and a program from the dedication of the new edifice in 1973.
