Jan Padgett (1946 - ), an independent documentary film writer and director, is the owner of Bear Productions Ltd, a film production company. Though this company she has written, directed and produced several documentary films. In 2002, Fred and George Ilott, and Edwin Turner approached Jan Padgett to collaborate with them on the production of a film about the sinking of the Teeshoe, a Powell River Company tug, in 1954. Padgett and Turner, through regular communication, developed a funding proposal and began to work collectively on research, story ideas and pre-production of the Teeshoe film. Over the course of this collaborative work, it became clear that stylistic differences between the Ilotts, Padgett, and Turner were not sustainable and Turner left the project in 2003. Bear Productions Ltd. completed the Teeshoe film in 2004.

The fonds consists of material related to the involvement of Bear Productions Ltd. with the making of the Teeshoe film.
