Biographical history
Alexander Jardine worked in various locations around B.C. before joining the Merchant Marine. He worked with the Empress of Canada, and then with the Donaldson Lines. In 1935, he joined the Royal Air Force and served in the Far East. After World War II, he was transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force and was Head of the Department of Military Studies at the Royal Military College in Kingston. He also served as commanding officer of several RCAF stations and as Military Attache at the Canadian Embassy in Prague.

The fonds consists of diaries, letters and manuscripts, documenting Alexander Jardine's career, including with the Empress of Canada, Donaldson Lines, the Royal Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the Royal Military College (Kingston).
