The collection consists of photographs collected from pioneer families on Salt Spring Island to be used in the book "Snapshots of Early Salt Spring Island and Other Favoured Islands", published in 1978.

The fonds consists of administrative and financial files (1947-1948, 1954-1956), accounts (1904-1926), register of shareholders and shareholder certificates, and banking records of the Salt Spring Island Creamery Company and its predecessor, the Salt Spring Island Creamery Association.

The fonds consists of minute books (1896-1940, 1955-1964), ledgers (1900-1933), fall fair programs and prize lists, cashbook (1908-1915), membership book (1897-1912), and a secretary's daybook (1907-1911). Fonds incorporates records of the Salt Spring Island Horticultural and Fruit Growers Association, the Islands' Agricultural and Fruit Growers Association, and the Islands' Farmers' Institute.

The collection consists of photographs depicting people, events, industry (particularly farming), and the built and natural environment of Salt Spring Island.
