Women's Ecumenical Resource Centre

Biographical history

The Women's Ecumenical Resource Centre was established in 1977 with the financial support of the United Church Task Force on Women, Church and Change. The Centre was located at the Vancouver School of Theology. The Centre's aim was to raise awareness in the institutional church, its bodies, church leaders and members to issues relating to the changed consciousness of and about women. The Centre operated a resource library and organized a variety of conferences, retreats, worship services, study groups and lectures. The Centre was closed in 1994.

The fonds consists of policy and mission documents, minutes, administration and financial records, library records, records relating to various conferences and workshops sponsored by the Centre, newsletters, newsclippings and other reference material.
