Biographical history
Around 1911, it appears that a one-room school was opened in White Rock at the foot of Buena Vista. The school did not appear to meet the needs of the growing community. White Rock Elementary School, also known as the White Rock School, was officially opened around 1914. It was built on the Buena Vista hilltop. It commemorated its 70th anniversary with a celebration in April, 1985. Around 2001, the school was closed, but not demolished.
