Biographical history
The first meeting of the Wellington and Extension miners to organize a union to negotiate with James Dunsmuir was on March 15,1903. James Richards was elected President. The meetings were held in the Finn Hall in Ladysmith.
Custodial history
Material was donated to the Nanaimo District Museum in an undocumented transaction and transferred to the Nanaimo Community Archives in 1993.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of photocopied minutes of weekly meetings from March 15, 1903 until August 9, 1903.
