In 1948, the Westbank Cooperative Water Users' Association succeeded the Domestic Water Users' (Westbank) Ltd. in providing domestic water to downtown Westbank (Okanagan Valley). In 1957, the operations of the association were taken over by the Westbank Waterworks District, which was later merged with the Westbank Irrigation District.
