History

The Victoria Symphony Society was established in 1947 to enhance musical culture in the Victoria area, and to develop and present concerts of symphonic music and the works of eminent composers. The mandate of the Society was extended in the 1970s to include the performances of Canadian and other contemporary music of all kinds.
