Administrative history
In 1962, the Woman's Missionary Society and the Woman's Association were amalgamated to form the United Church Women, whose focus was to be women's role in the total mission of the Church.
Custodial history
Most of the materials were kept in the homes of the UCW presidents or appointed record-keepers, until they were transferred to the Archives.

Fonds consists of the following sub-groups: UCW, BC Conference Branch (1949-2012, predominant 1961-2012); Cariboo Presbyterial (1959-2000); Fraser Presbyterial (1961-2000); Kamloops-Okanagan Presbyterial (1962-2009); Kootenay Presbyterial (1960-1971); Prince Rupert Presbyterial (1962-1971); Vancouver-Burrard Presbyterial (1960-1995); Vancouver-South Presbyterial (1962-1997); Victoria Presbyterial (1874-2006, predominant 1962-2006); Westminster Presbyterial (1962-2006).
