Biographical history

The Underwood Hotel was built in 1908 by Albert Everett (Dick) Underwood and is one of the original buildings in the Village of Chase. The purpose of the Hotel was to accommodate the influx of population arriving in the community seeking employment with the Adams River Lumber Company Ltd. It provided rooms and a beer parlor for the town inhabitants. The hotel is still in use today.
