Biographical history
The Surrey Leader was first published in 1929. In 1978, the Surrey Leader was sold to Hacker Press. Long-time Editor, Stanley McKinnon, continued as News Editor until his retirement in 1984.
Custodial history
The photographs were donated in 1983 by Stanley McKinnon, former editor and co-owner of the Surrey Leader.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of photographs taken for the Surrey Leader newspaper depicting a variety of events, presentations, groups, individuals, buildings, and scenes of Surrey between 1947 and 1974.
