History

St. Peter's, Revelstoke became a separate parish in 1896 and a church was opened about the same time. Previously, Revelstoke was part of the Kamloops Missionary District until the early 1890's when it was served from Ashcroft. In the outlying area, the Trout Lake and Ferguson Mission was organized in 1901 and St. John the Baptist Church opened in Trout Lake in 1904. Also, in 1904 All Saints' Church was opened in Arrowhead and was shortly organized with Nakusp into another new mission, which developed into the parish of Arrow Lakes. By the 1930's Arrowhead, Trout Lake and other points were attached to Revelstoke. Both Arrowhead and Trout Lake are no longer active. In 1966 a new ministry, shared with the United Church, was begun at Mica Creek. This congregation, too, is no longer active.
