History

St. Marys Hospital (Dawson) was opened by Fr. William Judge, S.J., in 1897. The Sisters arrived in the summer of 1898. The hospital soon became the property of the Sisters of St. Ann. After a fire (January 1950), the hospital was relocated at the Court House. Government House became a residence for the aged men, old-timers of Dawson.
