Biographical history
The earliest Anglican parish activity began in the Cowichan area in connection with St. Peter, Quamichan, where services were started in 1867. The church at Duncan was consecrated by 1906 and in 1909 the parish of Cowichan was divided, leaving Duncan paired with St. Mary the Virgin, Somenos, which had opened in 1875. St. Marys was secularized in 1970. St. John's is located at 486 Jubilee Avenue, Duncan, B.C.

Fonds consists of consecration documents, parish registers, parish council records, women's organization records, electoral rolls, historical notes, property records, architectural records and plans. Parish registers include: baptisms (1909-1963), confirmations (1935-1969),marriages (1910-1980), civil marriages (1980-2000), burials (1910-1999), services (1919-1998).
