<biogHist><p>The Sisters of St. Ann accepted in 1944 the invitation from Bishop Jean-Louis Collignon, O.M.I., to minister in Haiti. Most of the Sisters were from the Eastern houses of the Congregation, but a few Sisters from St. Josephs Province through the years joined in the Haitian apostolate. Beginning with St. Louis-du-Sud, the Sisters branched out into other villages and cities. The first who was missioned directly from this western province was Sister Mary Dositheus, called from Oliver, B.C., in 1946 to provide health care in Haiti.</p></biogHist>
