<bioghist encodinganalog="3.2.2"><p>Biographical history is unknown.</p></bioghist> <scopecontent encodinganalog="3.3.1"><p>Fonds consists of the personal records of Simon Dodd Ord for 1895. Includes personal correspondence from family and friends during his time as ranch hand at the Coldstream Ranch. The letters from his cousin Tibbie, sister Katherine, and uncle Nicholas all contain news and gossip of family and friends in England and South Wales. Some concern over his lack of communication, an accident he suffered on the job, and his dismissal from his job are expressed. Accompanying his uncle&#039;s letter is a bank draft from the Bank of New South Wales. Fonds also includes love letters to Simon from a young woman named Loosie, who lived at the Guisachan Ranch in the Mission area. Of particular note is that they were conducting their &#039;long distance&#039; courtship in secret.</p></scopecontent> <controlaccess>
