Biographical history
The Malahat Board of Trade was incorporated in 1926 at Shawnigan Lake, B.C. Its predecessor body was the Cobble Hill and Shawnigan Lake Branch of the Duncan Board of Trade. The association represented the interests of businessmen and other residents in the Shawnigan Lake area. In 1948, it became known as the Shawnigan Lake Chamber of Commerce.

The fonds consists of minutes (1943-1955), roll call book (1951-1954), and correspondence (1948-1954) of the Shawnigan Lake Chamber of Commerce, earlier known as the Malahat Board of Trade. Fonds includes the minutes (1918-1925) of the Cobble Hill and Shawnigan Lake Branch of the Duncan Board of Trade.
