History

The Women's Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Branch 98 in Enderby received its charter on May 28, 1946. Martha Bush was the first president; Mary Panton the first secretary/treasurer. In August 1952 the name was changed to Ladies' Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98. The ladies were responsible for entertainment and fundraising. They held dances, bingo, and teas, and they catered dinners in the Legion hall. Donations were made to provincial and local organizations. Auxiliary members were given awards in recognition of their service. The organization folded in 2007 when it became difficult to find members to be on the executive.
