  <bioghist encodinganalog="3.2.2"><p>Roderick Haig-Brown was born in Sussex, England, in 1908. He moved to B.C. where he became known as an author, environmentalist and Justice of the Peace. In 1934 he was appointed Magistrate of the Juvenile Court of Campbell River. From 1970-1972, he was Chancellor of the University of Victoria.</p></bioghist>  <scopecontent encodinganalog="3.3.1"><p>The fonds consists of familial correspondence between Ann and Roderick Haig-Brown, 1932-1976; personal papers of Ann Haig-Brown including letters, university notes, memorabilia, ephemera and subject files; negatives, colour transparencies relating to the Haig-Brown family and their home in Campbell River; black and white photographs taken by Alan Haig-Brown (Roderick&#039;s father) which accompanied articles that he wrote on various sporting subjects in England during the Edwardian period.</p></scopecontent>  <controlaccess>

  <custodhist encodinganalog="3.2.3"><p>After their deaths (Roderick 1976 and Ann 1990), these records were in the possession of their eldest daughter, Valerie Haig-Brown.
