History

Laurens Vernon Reid served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War and spent his later career teaching. He retired to Bowen Island in the late 1960s and became well known as the editor and publisher of the local newspaper, "The Undercurrent". From the 1960s to the 1980s, Reid travelled the world with his sister Dorothea Moon and wrote poetry.
