Biographical history
Presbyterian services on Pender Island began in 1894 in a community hall. Mayne and Galiano Island were included in the circuit with Pender Island in the 1890s. Pender Island Presbyterian Church was opened in 1906. Around 1912 the inter-island responsibilities on Mayne and Galiano Islands were taken over by the Anglican Church. Pender Island Presbyterian Church first voted for church union in 1912. There were 21 votes for and 2 against church union. In 1925 another vote for church union was held. This time the result was unanimous for church union. Pender Island United Church was closed in 1970.

Fonds consists of records from Pender Island United Church and its predecessor, Pender Island Presbyterian Church. Records include Baptismal register (1895-1962), Marriage register (1919-1923, 1933-1949), Burial register (1895-1962); Membership records (1895-1962); Session minutes (1895-1964), Congregational meetings minutes (1895-1910), Congregational annual meeting minutes (1909-1966); Cash books (1919-1968) and Bible Class account book (1929-1934).
