History

Thomas Wilson Paterson was born in Scotland in 1852 and moved to Canada with his parents at the age of three. In 1885, he arrived in British Columbia where he married Emma Elizabeth Riley in 1886. From 1902 to 1907, he served as an MLA and in 1909 he was appointed Lieutenant Governor for the province.
