History

The Nanaimo Track and Field Association was sponsored by Post No. 2 of the Native Sons of B.C. H. Reifel was secretary of the Association in the early 1950s. The Association sponsored an annual Labour Day Track Meet at the Central Sports Ground, which attracted competitors from Vancouver Island. In 1951, Nanaimo hosted the B.C. Championship Track and Field Meet.
