Biographical history

Mary E. Patrick and her family were parishioners of Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver (B.C.). They took an active role against the demolition of the cathedral and the building of a high-rise office building on the site in the 1970's. Mary E. Patrick participated actively in the fundraising campaign of the "Save Christ Church Cathedral Committee". She was also involved in issues relating to the publication of the Prayer Book by the Prayer Book Society of Canada.

Fonds consists of correspondence, notes, printed material and clippings. Includes material relating to Christ Church Cathedral redevelopment controversy; prayer book use; statement of accounts of the "Save Church Cathedral Committee", printed issues of service leaflets published on the occasion of special events that took place in the Christ Church Cathedral (the visit of Queen Elizabeth in Vancouver, 1951; the visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury, 1983; the consecration and installation service of the Venerable J. James Hywel, ninth Bishop of B.C., 1980).
