Biographical history

The Keith Lynn Parent-Teacher Association was founded in 1941, with the first meeting held on March 27 of that year. Eighteen members are listed; all, with one possible exception, women. As stated in the suggested constitution, the object was "to raise the standard of the home and the school, to co-operate with the school in promoting the welfare of the child, to study child problems and to foster a high degree of true citizenship and patriotism." The Keith Lynn PTA brought in guest speakers, engaged in fundraising and purchase of supplies for schools, participated in conferences, organized social events, and promoted activities to foster a better educational atmosphere. This branch was dissolved at a meeting held in October 10, 1968, the general decline in PTA organizations being cited as a major contribution factor.
