Biographical history
Joseph Thomas Clover was an apprentice to a surgeon and apothecary at the age of 16 in Norfolk, England. He worked as an anaesthetist for many years, and was also involved in lithotrity and litholapaxy. He invented a number of surgical instruments including an extractor, and an "ebb and flow" catheter.
