History

Immaculate Conception School (Vancouver) is a parochial school established in 1926. The school was housed in the church basement and the Sisters of the Sacred Heart taught there. Extensions and additions to the basement school succeeded each other. When the Sisters of the Sacred Heart left in 1948, the parish hired a lay principal. In 1954, the Sisters of St. Ann were asked to take over the teaching. By this time, a new school had replaced the former classroom locations. In 1980, the Sisters of St. Ann withdrew from the school, which continued to operate under parish auspices.
