Biographical history
The Grindrod Entertainmnet Committee was formed in 1916 in order to provide entertainment for the community. The organizations was incorporated as a limited company May 13, 1918. The Grindrod Farmers Hall was built with volunteer labour in 1918. The Grindrod hall was the social centre for the Grindrod community north of Enderby. The organization sponsored dances and special ecents, and the building was used by various groups in the community for dances, meetings, card parties, and church services.The building burned to the ground in 1969.

Fonds consists the Grindrod Farmers Hall minutes, membership lists, shareholderlists, annual reports, financial receipts, and correspondence.Of note is the particulars of incorporation, found as a notation in the 1951 account ledger, a list of directors and shareholders plus their occupations, found in the annual general meeting minute book, and list of shareholders found in the 1931 correspondence. It also includes records of affiliated Grindrod organizations, including minutes, membership lists and receipts of the badminton club and basketball club, plus correspondence and receipts of the Grindrod Women's Institute.
