  <bioghist encodinganalog="3.2.2"><p>The Fort Steele Brewery was started by Fritz Sick after he arrived in Fort Steele in 1898.  It was situated on the west side of the Kootenay River across from the town of Fort Steele. Fritz and his son Emil went on to establish breweries in twelve towns in Canada and the United States.  The Fort Steele Brewing Company was earlier known as the Kaiser and Sick Brewery.</p></bioghist>  <scopecontent encodinganalog="3.3.1"><p>Fonds consists of a brewer&#039;s malt stock book belonging to Kaiser and Sick Brewery, proprietors of the Fort Steele Brewing Company, 1898-1901.</p></scopecontent>  <controlaccess>
