Biographical history
David Fair was born in Paisley, Ontario. He worked as a stockbreeder for several years before he left to take part in the Yukon gold rush. In 1901, Fair came to Victoria where he found work as a contractor. David Fair was married to Christina Fair and they had three children, David A., John, and Della. David Fair died in 1936.

The fonds consists of photographs of the Fair family and of either David or David A. Fair driving a Tally-Ho carriage in Beacon Hill Park.
