Cowichan Lake Revolver Club
Biographical history
The Cowichan Lake Revolver Club was established in Lake Cowichan to facilitate the acquisitions of gun permits for its members and to organize pistol competitions in the area. Their first meeting was held on July 4, 1938. We have information dating to 1946. Unsure when they disbanded. Col. J.H. Boyd was the first president. They held an annual Invitation Field Days. There was also a Youbou Revolver Club.
Custodial history
Tom Marley (husband of donor was a member). Mrs. Marley donated the collection to the museum in 1983.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of 3 series which document the organization and ongoing business of the Revolver Club. The fonds include receipt books; membership lists; minute books; financial records and correspondence.
