A Methodist Church was organized at Coal Creek Mines in 1903 and was active, under the name of Coal Creek Methodist Church, until 1919. From 1919 until 1925, the congregation still existed according to Methodist yearbook statistics, but was without a minister. In 1925, Coal Creek became a part of Fernie Pastoral Charge (during its Methodist years Fernie and Coal Creek were separate circuits) and is last listed in the 1949 United Church yearbook statistics.
Fonds consists of a Membership roll (1904-1906); Official Board minutes (1903-1919) and Trustees minutes (1907-1910); Ladies Aid minutes (1903); Sunday School cash book (1905-1918); Epworth League minutes (1904); and Financial records (1903-1912). Record-keeping appears to have ceased after 1919 although Coal Creek remained active in yearbook statistics thereafter.
Probably held in custody of Fernie Pastoral Charge after union in 1925 and transferred at a later date, yet unestablished, to Archives.
