Canadian Women's Press Club
Biographical history
The Canadian Women's Press Club was formed in 1906 to promote journalism as a profession for women, "Canadian National sentiment" in publications, and higher standards of writing in newspapers. A Vancouver Chapter of the Club was organized in 1909.
Custodial history
Scope and content
The fonds contains the Club's constitution, membership lists, 1923-1937; minute books, 1917-1929; correspondence, 1927; triennial reports 1913-1920 and publications. There are also six scrapbooks 1912-1927 (volume 2), 1930-1969 (volumes 3-7) which contain reports, photographs, profiles of members, and accounts and souvenirs of the club's activities.
