Biographical history
Originally named the Guild of Health in Jesus Christ Our Lord, the Canadian Guild of Health was founded in 1918 by Thomas Elliott Rowe, the rector at Sardis, B.C. With national headquarters first in Vancouver, then in Victoria, and with an ecumenical membership, the organization has been devoted to the study and teaching of the relation between spiritual life and bodily health. Branches have existed across Canada, but have been mainly active in British Columbia.
