History

The Provincial Teachers' Association was established in 1935 in Victoria to foster professional development and to influence curriculum development in B.C. schools. In 1936, it became known as the Provincial Secondary Teachers' Association. The name was subsequently changed to the B.C. Secondary Teachers' Association and then to the B.C. Secondary School Teachers' Association.
