History

The Bridgeview Community Association was founded on June 20th, 1944. The immediate goal of the Association was the construction of a community hall, which was not completed until 1948 although it was in use by 1946. The main activities of the Association were fund-raising, event-planning, and the management and maintenance of the Community Hall. As a voluntary organization, the Association provided a voice for community concerns to the Surrey Municipal Government and the Surrey School Board and was instrumental in the formation of the Bridgeview Volunteer Fire Brigade.
