Administrative history
The first commerce association on Bowen Island was the Bowen Island Businessmen's Association. The group changed its name to the Bowen Island Chamber of Commerce in 1978 and received its official charter that same year. BICC has an annually elected executive council that includes the offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Chamber is mandated by its membership to act as an advocate for the commercial well-being of Bowen Island's business community and has supported a more accelerated pace of residential development.

The fonds consists of administrative, financial, and executive records created by the Bowen Island Chamber of Commerce and its predecessor organization, the Bowen Island Businessmen's Association. It also includes a series of the Bowen Island Chamber of Commerce’s newsletter and issues of the Bowen Island Guide.
