History

The Babine Bonanza Mining and Milling Company was incorporated in 1909 and owned by several interests, most prominently by James Cronin, who served as its President. The company was principally involved in the mining of silver, lead and zinc. The original holdings of the company, sometimes referred to as the Cronin Mine, consisted of five claims in the Babine Mountains and the Bulkley Valley area: Homestake, Bonanza, Lucky Strike, Babine Chief, and Bulkley Pioneer. In 1929, the Anglo London Mining Corporation bought a 51 percent controlling interest in the company.
