Biographical history

The B.C. Winter Games is an annual event held for athletes at a provincial level to compete in a variety of sports. These include gymnastics, swimming, hockey, judo, curling, karate, skiing, badminton, basketball, bowling, broom ball, figure skating, netball, power lifting, ringette, speed skating, squash, table tennis, and weight lifting. For the purposes of selection of athletes the province is divided into eight zones. In 1996 North Vancouver was the venue for this event. Gerry Brewer was President and Henry Bow Vice-President.

Transferred from the District of North Vancouver April 10, 1997.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of records of the planning and administration of the 1996 B.C. Winter Games in North Vancouver. These include subject files, minutes of meetings, and a binder from the 1995 B.C. Winter Games held in Comox Valley.
