Fonds MS 37 - Ann C. (A.G.) Rebagliati fonds

Miss Ann C. Rebagliati was born in Lytton, B.C. on October 28, 1900, the daughter of Italian immigrants Angelo and Concessa Rebagliati. Ann attended school in Lytton and helped out in her father's store. In 1944 she was appointed Municipal clerk; resigned in 1950 and after a period in Hipwell's Drugs and then in McClaskey's Drugs, Ann became the desk clerk at the New Lytton Hotel until 1957. She joined B.C. Tel until the conversion to the dial system in 1960. Ann then returned to the Lytton Hotel as desk clerk until her retirement in 1968. Ann helped as a community volunteer for many years. As a member of the "Get-together Club" she helped raise funds for a Community Hall by sponsoring card parties and dances and operated the Tennis court. She took part in several concerts to raise funds for the Red Cross. As a member of the Catholic Women's League, she was President and later secretary, and was active in fund raising, sponsoring card parties and bake sales. Ann was also on the committee for Dominion Day Celebrations for over 30 years. Ann's hobbies included decorating skills, gift wrapping and flower arranging, embroidery, tatting, crochet, sports, tennis, badminton, soft ball, and rollerskating. Ann had the honour and pleasure of arranging the basket of flowers (from local gardens) that was presented to Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth, on the occasion of her visit to Lytton in 1959. Ann was the archivist for the Lytton Centennial book on the history of Lytton, and she was the recipient of a 1967 Centennial Certificate of Merit. Miss Ann Rebagliati passed away July 20, 1988, and is buried in the Lytton Highway Cemetery.
