He was for four years Assistant Manager to the City of Toronto roadway section, dealing with heavy construction of roads, sidewalks, etc. He later served three years as comptroller for the City of Kamloops. At the time of his election he was Chief Clerk/Administrative Assistant to the Trans Mountain Oil Pipeline Company, a position he retained while alderman and later Mayor. Married with four daughters, he attended the United Church and was involved with the Boys Club of B.C. During his time as Alderman (1968-1969) and Mayor (1969-1977) of the City of North Vancouver, he remained firmly opposed to amalgamation.</p></bioghist> <scopecontent encodinganalog="3.3.1"><p>Fonds consists of records sent and received during Alderman Tom Reid&#039;s tenure of office in 1969.</p></scopecontent> <controlaccess>
