Biographical history

Abram Wiens was born in Russia and emigrated to Canada in 1925. He arrived in Yarrow, B.C., in 1942. He was active in the provincial Mennonite Relief Committee and was instrumental in the establishment of the Mennonite Central Committee in B.C.

The fonds consists of correspondence and reports relating to foreign relief work, Mennonite service programs, and the establishment of the Mennonite Central Committee in B.C. Fonds also includes photographs of church groups and activities, certificates, clippings, and reference material pertaining to Wien's life.
